Nicolas Egger

Finance · Investments · Long-term capital thinking

Profile

Over more than three decades in global finance, I have worked at the intersection of asset management, capital markets, and structured investment disciplines within leading international institutions.

Alongside this institutional background, my interests extend to sustainable and ethical solutions—reflected in my work through Sustainable Ethical Solutions LLC—particularly initiatives that combine disciplined capital deployment with tangible environmental impact.

My perspective today is deliberately selective—concerned with how capital is deployed when financial logic meets real-world constraints, and how judgment, alignment, and responsibility determine outcomes over time.

Experience

Senior experience across UBS, Credit Suisse, Merrill Lynch, Citicorp, and McKinsey & Company.

Work spanning asset management, structured products, capital markets, and strategic advisory within institutional and cross-border contexts.

Previously registered as a broker and fiduciary under SEC, FCA, and FINMA regulation. Not currently active in a registered capacity.

Current orientation

A synthesis of institutional experience and evolving priorities: selective involvement in investment, advisory, and strategic situations where capital discipline, real-world constraints, and long-term consequences must be held in balance.

This includes engagement in initiatives—such as emerging work around biochar and related carbon systems—as practical expressions of how capital can intersect with environmental restoration, approached with discretion and a long-term perspective.

Selected appearances

Interviewed across international publications spanning Asia, Switzerland, and the United States.
